congressman removed from state of the union for controversial stance that black people are human

House security escorts Al Green out for the crime of holding a sign that says Black people are human, while the guy who shared the racist ape video keeps his primetime slot.

The Trump era keeps finding new floors to crash through. At Trump’s State of the Union, Rep. Al Green was physically removed from the House chamber for the radical, deeply disruptive act of…holding a sign that said, “Black People Aren’t Apes.” In case you lost track of the timeline of American decline, that’s a reference to the video Trump himself posted this month depicting Barack and Michelle Obama as cartoon apes. As Green was escorted out just minutes into the speech, he waved the sign toward the Republican side while Texas GOP Rep. Troy Nehls lunged to grab it away, because nothing screams "party of free speech" like trying to wrestle a sign that says Black people are human out of a Black man’s hands on the House floor. This is Green’s second year in a row getting tossed during a Trump address — last year it was for shaking his cane at the president. Trump, meanwhile, still hasn’t apologized for the racist video, instead offering the very statesmanlike defense that he “condemns its racist parts” after quietly deleting it. So to recap: the president shares a racist ape video about the first Black president and first lady, faces a mild scolding, deletes it, and keeps the mic. The Black lawmaker who responds by literally stating that Black people are not apes? He’s the one dragged out of the chamber. American democracy remains, technically speaking, a going concern; American dignity, however, has left the building.

white house posts jim crow meme, blames the intern

Barack Obama on the campaign trail, still somehow expected to be the adult in the room while the current president is reposting Jim Crow memes from his state-sponsored burner account.

The Trump White House decided to honor Black History Month by sharing a video on the president’s official social media depicting Barack and Michelle Obama as apes, set to The Lion Sleeps Tonight because racism apparently needs a soundtrack now. The clip was tacked onto the end of yet another lie-filled rant about 2020 "voter fraud," just to make sure the fascist nostalgia had both the Jim Crow visuals and the Big Lie plotline.

The administration’s first response was to sneer that the backlash was just "fake outrage" — always helpful when the government’s communications shop openly workshopped the talking points of anonymous racists on Telegram. Only after bipartisan condemnation, including from Senator Tim Scott calling it "the most racist thing I've seen out of this White House," did the story evolve into the classic MAGA Mad Lib: a staffer did it, it was deleted, and Trump "didn't see" the part where he shared a viral racist meme to millions of people.

Obama, because someone in this country still remembers how presidents are supposed to sound, told podcaster Brian Tyler Cohen that the real crisis is the total evaporation of shame and decorum among public officials. He described the whole thing as part of a broader "clown show" of cruelty and indecency that dominates social media and TV, while most Americans still cling stubbornly to basic human decency. The current president, meanwhile, is out here stress-testing how much open racism you can run through the official White House communications pipeline before the GOP finally decides that maybe the problem isn’t just the interns.

trump nominates great replacement guy to represent america to the world

Jeremy Carl, seen here auditioning to be America’s ambassador to 4chan, prepares to explain white genocide theory to the United Nations.

The Trump administration looked at the entire pool of potential diplomats and said: what if we send the great replacement guy to handle the United Nations? Jeremy Carl, a Claremont Institute fellow and former Interior official, is Trump’s pick for assistant secretary of state for international organizations — the person who would manage America’s relationship with the UN while publicly describing the Civil Rights Act as an “anti-white weapon” and musing about “white genocide”. Truly the perfect face of US multilateralism: a man who thinks Juneteenth is “race hustling and white-shaming” and that “self-hating white people” are “mentally ill”.

Carl’s online history is a greatest hits album of far-right grievance: pushing the “great replacement” conspiracy, declaring “we either win or die” about political opponents like Cori Bush, calling George Floyd a “thug” “looking up from hell”, and comparing Proud Boys seditionists to Black men in 1930s Mississippi courts — because nothing says "serious policy thinker" like equating accountability for an attempted coup with Jim Crow lynch justice. He also reportedly flirted with addressing the “Jewish question” and claimed Jews “love to play the victim”, but don’t worry, he later tried to mass-delete 5,000 posts and even scrub the Wayback Machine, because nothing screams innocence like frantically power-washing your own digital crime scene.

Democrats on the Senate foreign relations committee, shockingly, are not thrilled about sending a white supremacist-adjacent podcaster to represent the US to a planet that is about 93% non-white. Desirée Cormier Smith points out the obvious: it’s hard to “credibly engage” with diplomats from Africa, Latin America, Asia, or basically anywhere when you’ve built a career arguing they’re part of a plot to erase white people. Yet with Trump’s Senate already having rubber-stamped Pete Hegseth at Defense, RFK Jr at Health, and Kristi “Shoot-the-dog” Noem at Homeland Security, Carl might only be “a bridge too far” if one Republican suddenly discovers that openly racist, antisemitic, and homophobic tirades are slightly off-brand.

So as US global favorability plummets and alliances wobble, Trump’s solution is to nominate a man whose core message to most of the world is: you’re either a demographic threat or mentally ill. The job is "assistant secretary for international organizations"; the audition reel is "Claremont Institute YouTube comments section". If you were trying to convince the world that American democracy is circling the drain, you couldn’t design a better envoy.

trump posts racist obama ape video, gop voter finally notices racism exists

Trump, moments before insisting the racist video he personally posted somehow posted itself.

Trump, moments before insisting the racist video he personally posted somehow posted itself.

Trump shared a video on Truth Social depicting Barack and Michelle Obama as apes, then had it yanked after backlash, like that somehow un-presses "post" on the sitting president’s racism. The White House initially defended it, because of course they did, and then a lifelong Republican named John from New Mexico called C‑SPAN to say he was shocked to discover the man who launched his career on birtherism is racist. Three elections and one ape meme later, the scales have fallen from his eyes.

Meanwhile, the same administration John helped vote in (repeatedly) has been busy harassing and arresting journalists, looting the office for an estimated $4bn in profiteering, gutting climate policy, and turning immigration detention into a catalog of deaths, physical abuse, and sexual assault. Add in the body count from Hurricane Maria negligence, Covid malpractice, junk science, and the dismantling of humanitarian aid, and you’ve got a government that treats human life like a rounding error on a golf bill.

The conservative brain trust, represented here by Ben Shapiro, openly concedes Trump’s flaws but waves them away as not "disqualifying" because Kamala Harris existed on the ballot. That’s the new standard: authoritarian corruption, lethal incompetence, and open racism are acceptable overhead as long as the vibes are right. And now we’re supposed to hand out moral participation trophies to folks who helped build this and only object once the president’s racism is too loud to ignore on their TV screen. Apologies are nice; accountability is nicer. Neither is currently in office.

The President, moments before asking why people keep calling him racist as he posts a Jim Crow-era meme from the Resolute Desk.

The President, moments before asking why people keep calling him racist as he posts a Jim Crow-era meme from the Resolute Desk.

The President of the United States spent three hours on Truth Social last night speedrunning the collapse of basic decency, blasting out more than 60 posts that included yet another election conspiracy video — and, as a special encore, a clip depicting Barack and Michelle Obama as monkeys. Because when you’ve already tried to overturn an election, the obvious next step is to go full Jim Crow in the replies.

The one-minute video recycles the same debunked Dominion Voting Systems lies that already cost Fox News $787.5 million, then ends with the Obamas’ smiling faces slapped onto dancing monkeys to the tune of “The Lion Sleeps Tonight.” The clip racked up thousands of likes and reposts while Republicans performed their usual magic trick: watch the president openly broadcast overt racism and then suddenly forget how to use their phones to condemn it.

Democrats and strategists called it what it is — blatant racism and yet another reminder that Trump should never be anywhere near power again. Trump, meanwhile, paired the racist meme with a Super Bowl ad and calls to put his face on Mount Rushmore, which is a bold ask for a guy whose main contribution to American history is turning the Oval Office into a 24/7 racist Facebook group for boomers with frontal lobe damage.

Dr. Oz, now taxpayer-funded, gesturing at Armenian bakery signs like he’s uncovered the Zapruder film of Medicare fraud.

CMS administrator Mehmet Oz took a break from selling miracle weight-loss scams to sell a new one for the Trump administration: that LA’s Armenian community is basically a $3.5bn hospice fraud cartel. In a social media stunt, Oz tours Van Nuys, waves at Armenian signage like it’s probable cause, name-drops the “Russian Armenian mafia”, and singles out a bakery on camera—because nothing says serious law enforcement like drive-by ethnic profiling with B-roll of pastries.

Gavin Newsom responded by filing a civil rights complaint with HHS, accusing Oz of spewing “baseless and racially charged allegations” that are already hurting real businesses and scaring people away from hospice and home care. Oz and CMS, naturally, have provided no corroborating details, while Newsom points out that California has already yanked more than 280 hospice licenses and frozen new ones since 2022—so the whole “California ignores fraud” talking point is as fake as Oz’s TV credentials as a public health guardian.

This little ethnic hit piece isn’t happening in a vacuum. It’s part of a wider Trump administration “fraud” crusade that previously used allegations about Somali-run daycare centers in Minneapolis to justify a sweeping immigration crackdown—one that’s already produced mass protests and two people shot dead by federal agents this month. In other words, we’re not looking at a crackdown on fraud; we’re looking at a crackdown on communities, with Dr. Oz happily playing the role of government infomercial host for state-sanctioned scapegoating.

white house runs open mic night for white nationalists

President Trump, half in shadow, presumably to symbolize that the white nationalist part of the messaging is only *semi*-overt now.

The Trump White House, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Department of Labor have apparently decided that the best use of official government social media is to moonlight as a promo team for the extremist right. In the last month, they’ve pumped out posts referencing neo-Nazi literature, ethnic cleansing, QAnon conspiracies, and even floated deporting nearly a third of the U.S. population — because nothing says "public service" like casually workshopping ethnic cleansing on Instagram. One ICE recruitment ad, jointly posted by the White House and DHS, splashed the phrase “WE’LL HAVE OUR HOME AGAIN” across the screen — which, fun twist, just happens to be the title of a white nationalist anthem beloved by Proud Boys and other extremists, and quoted by the white supremacist who murdered three Black people in Jacksonville in 2023. But sure, we’re told, to some people it just sounds "patriotic" and to others it’s merely a "faint dog whistle." Meanwhile, anyone familiar with far-right codes hears not a whistle but a full-blown air raid siren coming from official U.S. government accounts. In other words, this isn’t fringe trolls in anonymous forums — it’s people with .gov email addresses and security badges laundering extremist iconography into the bloodstream of state communication. The line between "governing" and "posting through your fascist phase" has fully collapsed, and the administration’s idea of recruitment now includes borrowing the soundtrack of a violent white supremacist movement. But hey, as long as the font is on-brand, right?

trump discovers asylum… for the right kind of refugees

The Statue of Liberty, updated with a new plaque: "Give me your white, your Western, your English-speaking masses… everyone else, try again never."

The Trump administration is reportedly toying with the idea of granting asylum to Jewish people fleeing the UK, but only after the proposal was floated not by, say, human rights experts or refugee agencies, but by Trump’s personal lawyer, Robert Garson. Because nothing says serious asylum policy like "I talked to the president’s attorney who once filed a $50m tantrum against Bob Woodward that got laughed out of court." Garson says he’s been in touch with the State Department about offering refuge to British Jews who feel unsafe amid a real and disturbing rise in antisemitism in the UK.

But don’t mistake this for a sudden humanitarian awakening. Garson helpfully explains why this asylum idea is so appealing: British Jews are a "highly educated community" that "speaks English natively" and "doesn’t have a high proportion of criminals". In other words: this is not about protecting vulnerable people, it’s about importing the "right" kind of refugees. Just a few months ago, the same Trump administration proudly slashed the total refugee cap for 2026 to 7,500 and earmarked most of those slots for white South Africans. People fleeing war, famine, or U.S.-backed dictatorships? Get in line behind the curated Eurocentric victim list.

Garson says he sees "no future" for Jews in the UK and blames British prime minister Keir Starmer for allowing antisemitism to grow, while Trump’s special envoy on antisemitism, Yehuda Kaploun, gets looped into the brainstorm as if U.S. asylum law is just another Mar-a-Lago side project. Meanwhile, protests against Israel’s devastating assault on Gaza are casually recast as "marauding mobs" and "baying for Jewish blood"—a handy way to smear dissent while polishing Trump’s image as the great protector of Jews abroad, even as his movement at home happily platforms white nationalists.

So we end up with the Trump doctrine on refugees: if you’re brown, Muslim, poor, or fleeing the consequences of U.S. foreign policy, the door is bolted shut. But if you’re white or Western, politically useful, and can be deployed as a talking point against your own government? Step right up, there might be room in the 7,500-person refugee cosplay quota. Human rights, but make it demographic curation.

trump’s white ethnostate has a demographics problem

Trump staring at a Census chart like it’s fake news, while the non-white population line keeps rudely refusing to obey executive orders.

Trump staring at a Census chart like it’s fake news, while the non-white population line keeps rudely refusing to obey executive orders.

Donald Trump is apparently furious to discover that no matter how many immigrants he deports, cages, or terrorizes, he still can’t turn the clock back to 1955 and repaint America eggshell white. The Census Bureau has delivered the worst possible news to the Mar-a-Lago apartheid brain trust: the non-Hispanic white share of the population is shrinking no matter what, and the only thing that actually keeps the country younger, richer, and more powerful is the one thing Trump and Stephen Miller loathe on a cellular level: non-white immigrants. So the plan, naturally, is to tank immigration and then demand that American women crank out more babies for the Fatherland. The White House is toying with policies that read like a rejected Handmaid’s Tale spin-off: a “National Medal of Motherhood” for especially fertile women, fertility tracking classes, and a $1,000 deposit into little “Trump accounts” for babies born under his reign—because nothing says serious demographic strategy like slapping Dear Leader’s name on a savings account. Meanwhile, they’re slashing support for children’s healthcare and nutrition, making it harder to raise the kids they’re demanding people have. In other words: state-backed pronatalism plus austerity plus racism. What could go wrong? The math is brutal. With zero immigration, the US gets smaller, older, poorer, and easier to push around—exactly the opposite of the “strength” Trump keeps screaming about into microphones. The share of seniors explodes, the workforce shrinks, and the only way to avoid demographic and economic decline is to welcome more immigrants from the very “shithole countries” he keeps insulting. High immigration means a bigger, more dynamic country—but also a faster drop in the white share of the population. So Trump’s core dilemma is exquisitely simple: if he actually wants to “keep America great,” he has to let it get browner. And if he wants to keep chasing the fantasy of a whiter America, he has to make it weaker. He is literally choosing racial panic over national strength—but sure, tell us more about how this is all about “security” and “the economy.”

Donald Trump, fresh off signing another executive order to erase someone’s rights, explains that the real victims in America are white guys who say ‘shithole countries’ into microphones.

Donald Trump spent year one of Term Two proving that when he said he’d end ‘woke’, he meant ‘civil rights’. Within weeks, he signed executive orders to kill diversity, equity and inclusion and affirmative action across government, detonating thousands of DEI-related jobs in both the public and private sectors and helping purge journalists of color from newsrooms. Because nothing says ‘merit-based opportunity’ like making sure the only people left to cover the White House look like the country club directory. He followed that up by banning gender-affirming care for anyone under 19, sending families of trans kids into a nationwide panic as they scrambled to preserve basic medical treatment. Then, in case it wasn’t clear that this is a white grievance administration, he ordered JD Vance to block federal spending on Smithsonian programs about race and tried to erase Indigenous history again by renaming Denali back to Mount McKinley. Add in mass deportation raids that are literally tearing families apart, and you’ve got the full ‘America First, everyone else last, or deported’ package. On the mic, Trump dropped the quiet parts into a bullhorn. He mused about turning Gaza into a ‘demolition site’ and relocating Palestinians elsewhere, because ethnic cleansing is apparently just a real estate problem. He ranted that the FAA was ‘too white’ until DEI allegedly ruined it, smeared Somalia as a place where people ‘run around killing each other’, and called Rep. Ilhan Omar ‘garbage’ who should be ‘thrown the hell out’ of the country. At rallies, he dusted off his ‘shithole countries’ routine, demanded more Norwegians, and bragged about a ‘permanent pause on third world migration’ while crowing on Truth Social that he ‘loves the smell of deportations in the morning’—in other words, the Ellis Island reboot is Apocalypse Now. And because he never met a bigotry buffet he didn’t want to hit twice, Trump tossed in some casual antisemitism for dessert: declaring Chuck Schumer ‘used to be Jewish’ but is now ‘a Palestinian’, and referring to ‘shylocks and bad people’ while bragging about his estate tax cuts. Women, of course, get the usual treatment—dismissed as nasty, boring, or not smart enough whenever they dare mix faith, politics, or criticism of Dear Leader. The Guardian calls it ‘Trump in his own words.’ The rest of us call it what it is: racism and misogyny as official U.S. policy, narrated live by the guy holding the nuclear codes.

muslim ban 3.0: now with extra africa and palestinians

Trump proudly pointing at a world map like a drunk landlord deciding which tenants to evict next.

Trump proudly pointing at a world map like a drunk landlord deciding which tenants to evict next.

Trump has decided that what America really needed this holiday season was another travel ban, so he’s expanded his personal no-fly list to five more countries plus anyone holding Palestinian Authority documents—because nothing says "national security" like collectively punishing stateless people who already have almost no freedom of movement. Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, South Sudan, Syria, and Palestinian Authority passport holders are now under full restrictions, while Laos and Sierra Leone get upgraded from "partial discrimination" to the deluxe package.

The White House insists this is all about "screening and vetting failures" and not, absolutely not, no way, about racism, Islamophobia, or targeting poor Black and brown countries. They cite things like "unreliable civil records" and "corruption"—in other words, conditions the US helped create through decades of war, sanctions, and "foreign policy"—as grounds to lock people out. Also starring in the justification: an Afghan suspect in a shooting, because if one person commits a crime, obviously millions of unrelated people must be banned indefinitely. Very scientific. Very "anti-science", you might say.

This is Trump’s third travel ban, a sequel so lazy they didn’t even bother to change the plot: pick a list of mostly Muslim and/or African countries, slap on "security" language, and dare the courts to stop him. The Supreme Court upheld the first version, so now we’re doing the extended universe edition, adding more African nations like Nigeria, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe to the "partial restrictions" tier, plus the usual enemies list (Cuba, Venezuela) for flavor. But don’t worry, the ban comes with exceptions for diplomats and athletes at major sporting events—because if you can run a 9.8 in the 100m, you are apparently no longer a national security threat.

As always, the cruelty is the point. Families are split, students and workers are stranded, refugees are trapped—while Trump gets to brag about being "tough" and cable panels dutifully debate whether this obviously discriminatory policy is actually just smart border security. The White House says the bans stay until countries show "credible improvements" in identity management and cooperation with US deportations—in other words, until they remake their systems to Washington’s liking or their citizens just give up trying to come. But sure, tell us again how this isn’t a Muslim/Africa/Palestinian ban, just a totally neutral spreadsheet of "risk" that somehow keeps circling the same kinds of people every single time.

In yet another stunning display of justice, the Supreme Court has decided to keep the Trump administration's ban on transgender military members alive a little longer. I can only imagine the reichwing rage we would see if joe biden constantly came out in clown makeup

Trump, ever the real estate mogul, has a bold new pitch: the U.S. should own Gaza. Not help rebuild it, not assist in humanitarian aid—just straight-up take it over and ship the people elsewhere to some vague, “fresh, beautiful piece of land.” You know, because nothing screams peace and stability like forced displacement and a colonial land grab. Sitting next to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump floated his plan to transform Gaza into a luxury development project, casually dismissing the Palestinians' desire to stay in their homeland. “I do see a long-term ownership position,” Trump declared, as if he were discussing a prime beachfront property instead of a war-torn region home to 2.2 million people. And naturally, Netanyahu—always up for a little annexation talk—was open to the idea, calling it a potential “change in history.” That’s one way to describe it. Trump, who once called Gaza a “phenomenal location” with “the best weather,” has essentially proposed turning it into a high-end international community (Palestinians optional), all while ignoring the reality that Gaza belongs to the Palestinians. But hey, when you think the world is just a Monopoly board, why let international law or basic human rights get in the way?
